Electricity Saving Tips For Homes And Offices

Top Ten Refrigerators in India by electricity consumption and size in 2016

By on April 24, 2016
Hindi Translation: बिजली की खपत और आकार के अनुसार भारत के दस सबसे अच्छे रेफ्रिजरेटर

There are multiple types and brands of refrigerators or fridges available in the market today. Everyone wishes to be informed before making a buying decision of a refrigerator. Most sources on the Internet provide details on features and reviews. Electricity consumption hardly becomes the deciding factor. To help people make electricity consumption as deciding factor, we at Bijli Bachao have decided to put up a list of Top Ten refrigerators in India by electricity consumption and size.

Top Refrigerator
  • The basis of this ranking is the data from BEE (Bureau of Energy Efficiency). BEE data contains yearly electricity consumption of a refrigerator and this information is self reported by the manufacturers. The data is calculated in test conditions.
  • We have taken the data on electricity consumption and categorised it by the capacity or volume of the refrigerator. The refrigerator with the least value of units/lts is given the highest ranking. Multiple models with the same value are given the same rank.
  • The list below contains only the top ten ranked refrigerators. List of all BEE star rated refrigerators are available on the useful links given below.
  • Use the ‘Add to compare’ icon to compare the monetary value of the units available from BEE based on your tariff from your electricity provider and your usage.
  • Please note Direct Cool refrigerators are single door refrigerators and Frost Free refrigerators are multi door refrigerators.
  • We regularly update this list as new models get added in the BEE list of refrigerators.

I am planning to replace my old Electrolux 445 LTS Fridge with Samsung 394 LTS. My old fridge currently taking 4-5 unit of electricity per day. How my question is as per the level the Samsung Fridge suppose to take 276 unit per year. Is this really the case? Or just advertising ? I am confused about the 276 unit per year mentioned in the level.

    Please can someone help.

    • https://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

      Hello Mr Mallick,

You have to use it to believe it :). By the way these are numbers provided by Bureau of Energy Efficiency which is a government organization that rates appliances. Based on our (Bijli Bachao’s) observation, these numbers are applicable in test conditions and in reality it is 30% more. But still a modern 394 lts refrigerator with inverter technology should not consume more than 1 unit of electricity per day. Your refrigerator must be an old model purchased at least 8-9 years ago (when efficiency levels were not high). And even the technology has improved significantly. So there is no marketing gimmick.

    Advance Thanks!

    Hello Mr. Abhishek,
I’m planning to buy a refrigerator in 250-350 Lt. capacity; double door/multi door; Frost free(In Pune). Also surveyed the market for looking at the models, and there were some confusions, if you can help me to clarify:
    1. Apart from Inverter Technology, Samsung is offering convertible technology(Freezer Normal Freeze), but some store persons told that there are complaints with it’s convertible panel, it becomes erroneous after some time. Also company claims that it takes time of some 20 mins to half an hour to convert but actually it takes a long(around 3-4Hrs.). It’s just for luring people, the same can also be achieved by setting the temperature by given temp. control.
    2. In almost all Samsung refrigerators, after opening them a stink of plastic/rubber was coming which was not observed(or comparative very less) in LG/whirlpool
3 Is BEE planning to give its star rating to Whirlpool Proton series, b’coz they claim it as very energy efficient due to separate basket, due to which it needs not to open whole refrigerator every time, leading to make it energy efficient. If BEE has already started to evaluate it and you can share details then it’ll be helpful for all.
    4. Which company is better in after sale service/spare parts between LG, samsung and Whirlpool?
    5. Which company is using the best refrigerant in above 3?
    6. Normally all are offering 10Yrs warranty for compressor and 1 Yr. for rest, so will it be good to buy extended warranty?

    • https://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

      Hi Amit,

      Here is my response:

      1. On Bijli Bachao we have not received complaints from anyone about Samsung Smart Convertible. So I cannot confirm on those claims. Also because we have not physically tested the refrigerator, so I cannot confirm on the claims of time taken by refrigerator to convert.

      2. I cannot provide you inputs on plastic/rubber smell from the refrigerators as well. We at Bijli Bachao just take specs from Manufacturers/BEE and provide the list of most efficient models. That is our primary thing. On top of it people ask for our opinions, so we just try to find information about specs and based on that give our opinion.

      3. Proton series is a 3 door series and currently BEE is not rating multi door models. It is just rating single door and two door models. One thing that I know for sure is that Whirlpool does not have inverter technology compressor in any of its models. And the most energy efficient models (2 door) are the ones that have inverter technology. It is quite difficult for a non inverter compressor to beat that kind of efficiency.

      4. After sales service of brands vary from city to city, location to location. And LG, Samsung and Whirlpool are quite similar in terms of their spread across the city and market share. I would say LG and Samsung have slightly more market share than Whirlpool. But then brands at times outsource their service to third parties leading to not-so-good service some times. But then if your area has a dedicated service center, then it may be good. And finally the most important element in service is the service engineer and his skills, which varies from individual to individual. If you search on internet, you will find complaints about each and every brand, because at this scale (national level), it is extremely difficult to be consistent with good quality service. As for spares, you will not find issues with any of these 3 brands.

      5. All of them use R600a these days. Some models may have R134a, but then R600A is better in terms of performance. And most refrigerators have R600a.

      6. So a fridge would have compressor, condenser, evaporator and the rest of the parts (like thermostat, circuit board for control, etc). Compressor is just one part which is a motor. Inverter Technology compressors in general should be more durable because of no wear and tear due to on/off cycle. So easy for them to give 10 years warranty. But then other parts like circuit boards, thermostat, condenser, evaporator, etc are not covered in 10 yrs warranty. In most cases, they should not fail. But then you never know. My own frost free refrigerator from Whirlpool has started giving me troubles after 7 years. It is frost free but frost has started accumulating in the freezer and the engineer says that the heating element (that removes frost) is not working fine. But yes, it has happened after 7 years (not after 1 year). After all these all are machines.

  • Jaya vasan

Sir, Now I’m at chennai,at Kerala we have a house, this vacation I want to purchase a fridge there. But we’re there at only 10 days, then we will be back to chennai. Next trip mostly after 2months. For this time off the fridge any problem .

    • https://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

There should be no problem in the working of the fridge if you do not use it.

  • Rajiv Pandya

Hey Budd..i recently purchased LG model (refrigerator) I302RPZL of 2016.. i just wanted to know that as the said model does not reflect in your recommended list therefore my decision to purchase the aforesaid model is wise or not?

    • https://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

Well as per 2016 ratings this is a BEE 3 star rated model. Last year it was BEE 4 star. It does not appear in the list above because there are more energy efficient models than that this year. However, that does not mean that this is a bad model. It not appearing in the list means that you could have got more energy efficient options as well.

  • Suresh

    Hi
I am looking to buy a refrigerator in the range of 400-480L with a budget max of 60K. Can you refer me some models pls.
    Thanks

    • https://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

      You can look at

      LG GL-M522GNSL
      LG GL-M522GDWL
      LG GL-M542GNSL
      Samsung RT47K6358SL/TL

    • Suresh

One of the options I have is LG GL-M522GNSL

Let me know other recommended options as well. Thanx

  • moorthi

    hi abhisek,
I m going t buy a new refrigerator with 5star rating 14k-16k budget. which is better in this budget (I have idea on Whirlpool, LG or Godrej brands)

    • https://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

I think you should go for LG single door model with inverter technology compressor. It would be really good.

  • Waruna

Is Samsung refrigerator inverter compressors are more energy efficient than LG inverter compressors?

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

You cannot generalize. You have to check model number and its energy consumption.

    • Waruna

For a family of 3, would it better to get a 3 Star 250Lfridge or 4 Start 320L fridge in terms of electricity consumption? I understand
small 250L fridge will consume less electricity even though its 3 star since it has a small capacity to cool and it will likely be full most of the time compared to a 320L fridge that could be half empty most of the time for a family of 3 but 320L has a 4 start rating.

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

Go for a smaller fridge. That would be more efficient.

    • Waruna

If I understand correctly, smaller 3 star fridge is more efficient than a slightly larger 4 star fridge?

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

I would not say it is efficient because efficiency is defined as output/input. If output is less then lesser input does not necessarily mean more efficient. But yes it would consume less electricity as compared to bigger 4 star fridge.

    • Waruna

Is LG GL-M292RLTL an efficient model at 250L capacity range? Can you confirm if its 4 star rated fridge?

    • https://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

It was BEE 4 star as per last year’s standard by BEE. As per the current year’s standard it would be BEE 3 star. BEE has made star rating stringent this year and there are hardly any BEE 5 star rated models and all old BEE 5 star have become BEE 4 star and 4 star have become 3 star.

  • ankit

    Dear abhisek,

Recently lg launching smart inverter technology in direct cool model(215/190)
.can any other brand have better tech
?if yes please suggest and tell me disadvantage of smart inverter tech. If have.
    regards,
    ankit

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

There are no major disadvantages of going with inverter tech. It is the best thing available out there. The only thing that I can think of is that it is a new technology so repairs are expensive. But it is energy efficient. LG is the only one that I think has launched inverter tech in direct cool model.

  • varun

    hi abhishek
what to buy refrigerator capacity 350 lit to 400lits range between 35 k 45 k with inverter technology the list above is very good but bit confusing for me. can u plz suggest me refrigerator with good storage capacity with double door ,frost free and inverter technology , 3star or 4 what ur recommendation.
    thx for the list above.

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

      Hi Varun,

For a refrigerator we always recommend to go for the most efficient one as it will be used 24 hrs a day and 365 days. So BEE 4 star rated would be best.

Also can you please help me understand the confusion that you have from the list? The objective of putting this site is to have people look at it and understand it themselves, because it becomes impossible to give manual attention to each and every visitor. We get about 50000 people on this site every day and hundreds of questions everyday. So out aim is to make things that are most easy to understand.

    • varun

      thx for reply abhishek ,

confusing means little tricky for me not for all.
thx for ur hard work on the above list i appreciate it a lot.
plz suggest me a model no of any brand u prefer with good storage capacity between 350 to 450 liters.
with latest technology like inverter and all, range between 40k to 45k
ur recommendations means a lot .

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

      Hi Varun,

LG, Samsung, Godrej and Hitachi would have models with high efficiency and inverter technology in that price range. If you are a vegetarian then Samsung’s Smart Convertible refrigerators can be a great choice. Else you will get lot more choices in LG. I can suggest you a model number, but what I have seen is that people sometimes do not get those models in the market. Our data is based on models available online (Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, etc). But what is available in store is sometimes different.

    • varun

thx Abhishek for ur concern,at my location online services r not available, but u can tell m model no so that i can cheek them in store for there availability and yes i am vegetarian
      thx again

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

Attached is the filtered data (in the table above) based on your requirement. The Samsung model should work well for you (but don’t blame me if it doesn’t :) ).

  • abhi

im planning to buy double door fridge 300 lts this week stuck b/w Lg vs samsung which is good do smart conversion avilable in lg also

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

Go for samsung if you want smart convertible.

  • Hamzath Mohammed

    HI,

Is it better to buy two small fridges with 165 litre or lesser capacity instead of buying one bigger one. One mechanic suggested the same . what is your opinion ?

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

I think it is better to go for 1 big fridge than 2 small fridges. One machine can handle efficiency better.

  • abhi

can u suggest a refrigrator double door in 35k range what would be good samsung or lg is smart comvertion model is good

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

      Hi Abhi,

We have given list of all the BEE star rated refrigerators in the table above. You can use the filters in the table to filter out your preferred brand, budget range and can sort it by annual electricity consumption to get the right models (I will also do the same if I have to).

    • abhi

lg vs samsung which is good do smart conversion avilable in lg also

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

Both are good. Smart Convertible is not there in LG. If you want smart convertible then go for Samsung.

  • Pratyush

Hi. Kindly suggest whether Siemens is a good brand to go for? What about service support and spare parts availability.
Kindly suggest siemen KG57NAI501 or Samsung RT47H567ESL or Samsung RT49K6758S9.

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

      Hi Pratyush,

Siemens is a good european brand with great technology, but their energy efficiency numbers are quite low. In BEE ratings, most of their models are just 2 or 1 star rated. So if you are concerned about electricity consumption, then I would say avoid them. Samsung RT49K6758S9/TL is a BEE 3 star rated refrigerator. RT47H567ESL is not there in the latest list by BEE, so cannot comment on the energy efficiency levels for the same.

But I think Samsung RT49K6758S9/TL is a good choice.

  • Keyur Patel

    Suggest a freez upto 30 to 40k
Two or three door for the family of 4person
And ya i m confused for which company refrigerator i shd buy

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

      Hi Keyur,

For a 4 person family 250-300 lts should be more than enough. As for technology, I would recommend you to go for a refrigerator with inverter technology compressor. Currently LG, Samsung, Godrej, Hitchi and Panasonic have inverter technology compressors. You can look at the list (in the <300 lts section) above and you will find several LG and Samsung models that can fit in your budget as well as would have inverter technology compressor.

    • Keyur Patel

      Thanx a lot sir
      LG GL-U303JSOL OR
Whirlpool NEO FR305 ROYAL PLUS 4S

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

I would say LG. Because it has inverter compressor.

  • Ajit B

    Hello Abhishek

First of all thanks for such wonder full web page with bundle of knowledge. Its a great platform which helps to make decision.
I want to buy a refrigerator for family having 8 members. looking for multi door model. Please suggest me a good models.

also please give your opinion for Whirlpool Fp 313D Protton Roy Multi-door Refrigerator.

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

Firstly I would say that I always recommend people to buy a refrigerator with inverter technology compressor. It is the most efficient and latest technology. You can get inverter technology in LG, Samsung, Godrej, Hitachi and Panasonic.

Secondly multi door refrigerators are not rated by BEE on energy efficiency. And just because they are not rated, manufacturers do not provide enough data to make an informed decision. I would say manufacturers of all kinds of appliances hide information and do not provide it unless it is made mandatory. In this case, for single door and double door refrigerators, BEE has made it mandatory for manufacturers to provide data and thus they do. But for others, they do not provide data, so I cannot comment much on them.

If you are looking for 300 lts double door model then you can look at the list above on this page of top most energy efficient models. I think you can get some good models in LG, Samsung and Godrej.

  • JItendra

    Hi Abhishek,
I want to buy Haier HRD-2156BS-H, Can you advise that it brand and model is good? Its 5 star so, actually it is?
Also suggest about HRD 2156PSL of Haier.

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

      Hi Jitendra,

Haier is a good chinese brand (please note, not all chinese brands are bad). And this model is BEE 5 star rated, so it is energy efficient. So if you want to go for it, then you may certainly do that.

    • JItendra

      Thanks Abhishek,
I am comparing in Haier & Panasonic so can you suggest which one is better?

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

As a brand I would say Panasonic would be better.

  • Sameer

What is meant by Units consumed per year. Is this the total units consumed per year?

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

That is right. It is total units consumer per year in test conditions.

  • amit

    Hello Abhishek ….

We need a refrigerator in the price range of 10000-15000. Request you to sugggest me a good one. We are confused between Samsung , Whirlfool, Viedeocon .

Also In samsung the back is covered and open in rest all but i have heared that is is not good for refrigerators to be open. Plz clear this fact also. So should we go for samsung or Whirlfool.

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

Whirlpool 205 ICEMAGIC POWERCOOL PRM 5S TTN or Videocon VC205PT would be best option for you. There are no BEE 5 star rated models from Samsung in your budget that I could find in our database.

Open back can actually be better for electricity consumption as it provides easy heat exchange for the condenser. But then overall design determines electricity consumption. The models mentioned above would be good for you.

  • Madhu

Hi Abhishek – I m looking for a refrigerator Single door- frost free – with good Star rating. We want to gift my friend. Family of 2-3 members. Please suggest.

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

Any of these would be good for you:

      LG GL-D292JSFL

      LG GL-M292RPZL

      LG GL-M302RPZL

      LG GL-D302JSFL

      LG GL-A282SPZL

      LG GL-C282RMPL

      LG GL-C282RSPL

      Samsung RT30K37547E/HL

As you can see from attached image. Samsung model mentioned above would be the best choice as it is BEE 4 star rated.

  • Cyril Jose

As asked before repeating the same question regarding Samsung refrigerator model RT56H667ESL which we are planning to buy. pls help us on this issue

Thanks Mr. Abhishek Jain for guidance.

I got the other doubt, as the Samsung is saying smart inverter technology (which will consume less power from home inverter 28.9 watts when power failure) and as my solar system is working with an inverter of pure sine wave, whether this refrigerator will count this solar inverter as normal inverter and may consume less as 28.9 watts ,which is not the normal operation. In this condition whether this refrigerator will work with full performance? will it work normal as we plugged to the electricity? hope u can help me with this question.

  • Cyril Jose

Hai, can you pls guide me on Samsung refrigerator model RT56H667ESL, regarding the power consumption per day as well as the starting wattage , as my home is equipped with solar lighting system of 1.5 Kw , and the refrigerator to be connected with solar power. Whether it can be work with full efficiency on solar power?.or is there any other model which I can run on solar power with low consumption 400-600 ltrs and ,the Bosch refrigerators KDN30VR30I of 288 ltr capacity also.

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

      Hello Mr Cyril,

Samsung RT56H667ESL is an inverter technology compressor refrigerator. It can very easily work with your 1.5 kW solar system. Inverter technology compressors do not need high starting current and at max this refrigerator would consume 1-1.5 amp current (or 200-300 watts at peak capacity). I do not see any problem in this model working with your 1.5 kW solar pv system. And yes it can work with full efficiency (that is the benefit of inverter technology). I do not think you need to replace it.

    • Cyril Jose

Thanks Mr. Abhishek Jain for guidance.

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

      Hello Mr Cyril,

I guess you are getting confused with inverter technology, power inverter and solar inverter. All of them are very different things:

By definition an inverter is something that converts DC (Direct Current) to AC (Alternating Current). Now that is basic electrical engineer’s definition of inverter. It does not mean power backup, it does not mean solar backup. It is plain a device that converts Direct Current to Alternating Current.

Now What is Power Inverter as you have known of since many years:

Power Inverter is a system that involves 1) A set of batteries 2) An Inverter. Batteries store electricity that comes from mains. Batteries provide electricity in DC (or Direct Current). Now all our appliances run on AC, and that is why an “Inverter” is needed to convert DC to AC as the electricity from battery cannot be directly used by our appliances. Have you ever tried connecting a regular 100 watt bulb to two ends of a battery? You must have seen that it glows without having to put an inverter in between. You can even try taking a AA battery, take two wires put them on two ends of a AA battery and put those wires on small bulb and it glows. A regular bulb can work on DC current from batteries, but appliances like fans, electronics, etc work on AC. And that is why “Inverter” is needed to convert DC to AC.

      Now what is Solar Inverter:
Solar Inverter is not much different from Power Inverter. Just that in case of Solar Inverter, the batteries are charged using solar power instead of electricity coming from the mains. Once the battery is charged, the rest of the functioning is exactly similar to that of regular power inverter. The function of “Inverter” here again is exactly the same, which is to convert DC from battery to AC. Why is it given a different name? because the method of charging the battery is different and that is why it is called solar inverter. Otherwise you can easily convert your regular inverter to solar inverter.

      Now what is Inverter Technology?
This is something that is confusing users quite a lot. Regular air conditioners/Refrigerators/washing machiens have a compressor that is an AC motor i.e. one that works on Alternating Current (and that is why power inverter has to convert DC to AC to make your refrigerator work). But Inverter Technology compressors are motors that are called Brushless DC motors. These are motors that run on DC (or Direct Current). But because the input power that is coming on our main line is AC, these machines have built in “Inverter” that converts AC to DC for the motor to run. It DOES NOT have any power backup. It CANNOT work in case of power failure as it does not have any battery. Please note to store electricity a battery is required. And this DOES NOT have any battery. One should not confuse Inverter Technology compressor with Power Inverter. They are two very different things.

In case of power failure you would need a power inverter (inverter + battery) system to run it. In case of power failure you CAN run it on solar inverter (Solar PV + inverter + battery) system. But please do not confuse it with power inverter as it is not power inverter which is there in inverter technology. This refrigerator can work on regular plugged electricity, it can work on power inverter, it can work on solar inverter. And IT DOES NOT have any power backup of its own.

    • Cyril Jose

      thanks again mr. Abhishek Jain

Are there any 2016 BEE rating 5 star rated inverter refrigerators between 300L and 420L in the Indian Market?

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

BEE has made the star rating stricter in 2016 and based on the new ratings, there are no frost free models in BEE 5 star rating as of now. The only ones are BEE 4 star rated.

      Hello Mr Sriram,

With refrigerators there is a lot of chaos between the models listed by manufacturers on their website and that on BEE’s list. What we have listed above are the models that we found common (both on manufacturers’ websites and BEE’s list). Based on that you can look at LG GL-U292JSOL or LG GL-U302JSOL. These are BEE 4 star rated as per BEE’s new star rating standards for refrigerators.

The only thing that you should use to compare two models should be the annual electricity consumption mentioned on the BEE labels of two models. The one with least number should be the one you should consider. A BEE 4 star rated refrigerator of 255 lts should consume about 190-200 units per year.

    Hi,
I’m planning to buy a single door refrigerator for
Family members – 1 or 2(max) because I stay alone.
Please suggest some good options considering:
    1. Less power consumption
    2. Good servicing
And of course should be of good quality.
    Thanks in advance,
    SAman

      Hi Shulkha,

A 180-200 lts single door refrigerator from LG, Samsung or Godrej would be good for you. Using filters:

      Brand: LG, Samsung or Godrej

      Size: 180-200 lts

      Type: DIRECT COOL

here is what I got from the table above:

Need urgent suggestion on Godrej RT EON 290 SD 5.3 and is it HFC and CFC Free

  • Utkarsh Jaiswal

Need urgent suggestion lg C282RSPL or LG GL-M292RPZL or LG GL-A282SPZL

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

All of them are almost the same. No major difference. If you have power cuts in your city and you store food in freezer then GL-C282RSPL has durachill that can keep freezer cool in power cuts. Rest everything is quite similar.

I am seeing new Samsung refrigerators in market , which are double door, and capacity 250-253 ltr., BEE 3 star ( energy consumption 240) , whereas BEE 4 star in LG has consumption ( 243). Every year , I think these star ratings are degraded. I saw e-commerce website selling old refrigerators with 4 star BEE, which now is shown as 3 star on company website like LG. Energy consumption between 3 and 4 star is minimal. As per what I saw in Bajaj Electronics Hyderabad.

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

Every BEE star label has year of validation mentioned on it. Even the color of star is changed regularly. One year the stars are red and the next year it is green. But the most important thing to check if the year when the star rating was given and that is mentioned on the label.

      Hi Raj,

These two models would be good for you:

      LG GL-M292RPZL
      LG GL-A282SPZL

    • Raju

Thanks so much Jain. Can I go for Above LG or Samsung RT27JARMAVL, RT27JARMESE? Which one is good.

    • http://www.bijlibachao.com Abhishek Jain

The LG models I suggested are BEE 4 star. These Samsung models are BEE 3 star. LG models are better I would say.

For bigger sized refrigerators, Hitachi and Panasonic can be quite good. Are you looking for double door or multi door refrigerator? What sized refrigerator are you looking for?

    Hi Mr. Abhishek Jain,

I am using 320L frost free double door Siemens make refrigerator 3 star rating for last 14 years. It has got compressed gas cooling coils outside the body.

Due to its robust built, except for door gasket replacement, I did not require any repair on it. However, I am of the opinion that the frequency of re-starts has gone up now gradually over the years.. Could the refrigerant leak takes place from the domestic refrigerator? If yes, could this be a reason for frequent re-starts?

I don’t want to replace this refrigerator unless it has some serious irreparable fault.

    Thanking you in anticipation,

    Shriniwas Hingne

    Hi Abhishek Jain
Yes,I am looking for Frost Free refrigerator only .Please tell me which technology used in both brand, which is best. suggest me which model is suitable.

    Thanks

      Hello Mr Murthy,

The whole purpose of creating this website and this page is to use technology in such a way that people can use the tools themselves and figure out what is good for them. The table/list mentioned above on this page is mostly self-explanatory and quite easy to use. Although we have tried helping people at individual level in the past but our goal is to make tools so that people can figure out what they want themselves. It gets extremely difficult for us to answer each person individually when the number of questions are a lot. And we get about 30000 people per day on this site during peak periods!!! Our objective is to make tools to help people make a right decision. But we feel as if our objective is not achieved when people do not make use of the tools.

From what I understand, you need a frost free refrigerator of 260L to 300L within a budget of 25-30K. Also you are looking at godrej and LG brands. If you look at the list of top refrigerators above (if you expand the tab for Frost Free (<300 lts), you will find that LG model GL-M302RPZL is on Number 4. It has capacity of 285 lts and costs about Rs 27199. It fits perfectly in your requirement. As none of the godrej models are in the top ten list above, I would recommend you to go for the LG models. LG has inverter technology which is far better than any technology out there in the market. You can read more about inverter technology over here: http://www.bijlibachao.com/refrigerators/refrigerators-with-inverter-technology-can-help-save-electricity.html
